Service description

Alderborough Spur offers accommodation-based service  for adult males and females aged 18-65 years. The service is for people who live independently in the community but require minimal support. The service is tailored to meet the needs of adults with mental illness, with or without substance misuse, or learning disabilities.

The service;

Actively support people to engage with appropriate local services.

Provide a safe and supportive environment for people we support.

Support people  to live independently in the community.

Provide staff support that is commensurate with the needs of people we support.

Work in partnership with people we support, adult social services, NHS healthcare services, primary care services, alcohol treatment services, community services, and local authorities.

Support available at this location;

Help in establishing personal safety and security.

Advice on developing personal and social living skills*.

Advice on developing coping and behaviour strategies*.

Help in finding more independent accommodation where appropriate.

Help in maintaining home security.

Monitoring of health and well-being.

Supervision with self-medication*.

Helping in maintaining tenancy.

Help in gaining to other services.

Help in establishing social contacts and activities.

Access to local communities.

Advice, advocacy and liaison.

Advice in managing finances and benefits claims.

Liaison with mental health services and other relevant services.

Risk assessments.

Prompting with preparing menus and meals*.

Promptingwith laundry*.

Prompting with daily chores.

Advice and support with benefits.

Prompting to access the community*.

Prompting to engage with providers of appropriate services*.

Prompting to access educational, occupational, social and leisure activities*.

Monitoring and support with self-medication*.

Description the premises 

Aldborough Spur is located in Slough, Berkshire. There are 6 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 shower room. The house is a short walk from Slough railway station and shops.

Local area

Slough is a multi-racial town located 21 miles west of Central London. It’s located within a short distance of large areas of woodland and lakes that form part of the 43-square-mile Colne Valley regional park. More locally, Granfield Playing Field, Singh Sabha Slough Sports Centre, Herschel Sports Centre, and Godolphin Playing Fields offer a wide range of outdoor and indoor recreational facilities.

Directions

To the west of Slough is Maidenhead and Iver is to the East. Slough railway station is on the mainline train services to the West and South West of England and to Wales. It is located a few minutes’ drive from junctions 5 and 6 on the M4 motorway. There is easy access to the M25, with direct access to the M40 north of Slough. There are local bus routes for fast travel directly into London, as well a community bus services travelling to local supermarkets and Wrexham Park Hospital.
